On May 16th, 1944 four thousand Roma imprisoned in the “zigeunerlager” in Auschwitz decided to stand up to their murderers who according to programme had come to get them to lead them to the gas chambers.

V sobotu 19. mája odvysiela STV2 o 23.20 h záznam z Koncertu tolerancie, ktorý sa uskutočnil v Košiciach 15. apríla 2012. V programe uvidíte: Bohemiens a Barboru Botošovú, Gypsy Latino Jazz Band pod vedením Mária Richtera a orchester Alexian so Santinom Spinellim.... Nezabudnite!!!! Čaká vás 70 minút skvelej hudby!

Jeden nemilý zážitok z dnešného dňa: Sprevádzala som 18 návštevníkov z Nemecka/prevažne novinárov na návšteve v MŠ na Luniku IX. Potrebovali sme sa odtiaľ dostať na Magistrát mesta Košice. Zavolali sme taxislužbu - 3eurovú. Žiadali sme 4 taxíky. Keď pani pri telefóne počula Lunik IX, povedala, že ich taxíky na Lunik IX nechodia. Keď som ju upozornila, že je to rasizmus a že len pred hodinou nás 4 taxíky tejto taxislužby na Lunik IX priviezli, takže rozpráva hlúposti, povedala, že dobre, ale musíme čakať hodinu... Nakoniec pre nás prišli veľmi ochotne z Rádiotaxi.... Nemci boli veľmi prekvapení.....

LITA CABELLUT: Premio de Cultura Gitana 8 de Abril 2011, modalidad de Pintura y Artes Plásticas.__________________________________________________ Lita Cabellut (Barcelona, 1961) Pintora, escultora y poeta. Se crió en el ambiente gitano del Barrio del Raval. Después de 13 años de vida en la calle y en un orfanato, fue adoptada por una familia que la llevó de viaje a Madrid y visitaron el Museo del Prado. Allí es donde empezó una nueva etapa en su vida: descubrió el mundo del arte y se enamoró de la pintura de Goya, de Velázquez, de Rembrandt. Su primera exposición la realizó a los 17 años en el ayuntamiento de Masnou, en Barcelona. A los 19 decidió marcharse de España para descubrir otros horizontes y recaló en Holanda donde estudió en la Academia Rietvels de Ámsterdam.Poseedora de un lenguaje pictórico propio, utiliza remozadas técnicas de la pintura al fresco. Su paleta, absolutamente reconocible, es comunicativa y seductora. Retrata personajes que representan la humanidad en su conjunto, el alma común, el modo en que estamos conectados unos con otros. Su pintura nos conmueve y trastoca nuestro ser profundo. Tiene una larga trayectoria de exposiciones alrededor del mundo: Nueva York, Ámsterdam, Miami, Singapur, Colonia, Hong Kong, Atlanta, Chicago, Londres, París, Venecia, Madrid, o Seúl. Acaba de inaugurar en la Opera Gallery de Londres su exposición sobre Frida Kahlo y prepara su participación en la inauguración del Centro de Arte Gitano de Berlín donde mostrará sus cuadros dedicados a Camarón. Su obra, aclamada por la crítica, es muy reconocida y valorada. Considera que la alegría y la pena, la vida y la muerte, los contrastes de ese claroscuro, conforman nuestra condición de seres humanos.
