Polish Right-Wing Extremists preach hate against Jews & Germans

Krakau / Poland (RNC Agency) 12.11.1996

Once more hundreds of skin-heads clad in jack-boots rampaged through Krakau and other Polish cities, shouting in chorus for citizens of Poland to rise up and fight the Jewish/American occupation of Poland. Other hate raving slogans included the extremists denouncing Polands planned membership of the UNO and European Union and ``we will not allow Jews and Germans to own Polish property ``. Although the right-wing group is small, it is attracting international attention and the call for the Government to bann this group is becoming louder and louder. The central figure in Polands right-wing extremist scene is the ``62 year old Bolislaw Tejkowski`` leader of the Polish National Partysplitter group. He surrounds himself with skin-heads and other right-wing-extremists. He has appeared before the court on several occasions charged withincitement to hate. In April he marched through the former Nazi Concentration Camp Auschwitz with more than 80 skin-heads shouting racist slogans.Tejkowski´s view of the world is blurred with his blind hate of Jews, Roma, Germans and Freemasons and he appeals to the existing prejudices which are abundant in Poland. In a recent opinion-poll carried out by the Opinion Research Institute (CBOS) in May, 41% of those polled did not like Jews, 70% disliked Roma and 30% did not like Germans. However, in spite of Tejkowski´s extremist activity, his group is not represented in Parliament and his candidature at the Presidential elections was rejected because he had falsified most of the 100,000 signatures needed to qualify for election. On the anniversary commemorating the anti-Jewish Pogrom night in Germany, more than 1.000 demonstrators participated in a march this past week in Warsaw thus setting a signal of their opposition against racism, many young Poles took part in the demonstration. Politicians from the Liberal and Social Democrat Parties have been and are warning the Government of the growing wave of right-wing-extremists. ``Artur Smolko`` (opposition Workers Union) demanded of the Government that in the planned new constitution a provision should be made which would bann fascist parties and organisations.
