In the dispute about the installation of a transit place for Sinti and Roma the parliamentary party of CDU speaks of "Landfahrer" (country travellers), who should not be allowed to stay in Frankfurt/Main. The Roma Union points out that this term is as discriminating as the term "gypsies" and must not be used according to the recommendation of the Hessian minister of the interior and the agreement for the protection of minorities.
The Roma Union appreciates the rejection of the CDU request by SPD, FDP, and Grüne. They once more emphasize the urgency of setting up such a place. It would solve the present problems of waste disposal and provisional camping. The Roma Union also offers support in organizing and running the place.
