‘‘Integration and communication’’ under this motto a project to prepare for working life of 10 young Roma is orgnaized by a local employmentplace for foreign youngsters. The project is running in several phases form 1st December till 1999. The youngsters c an gain basic knowlege in the field of media- and theaterwork in cooperation with the Roma theater ‘‘Parlipe’’ and the video magazine ‘‘Clipper’’ which is producing a film about the history of the Roma and Sinti in Düsseldorf. A visit to a radio- and texti ng studio is as well on the timetable as an introduction to photography and videotechnics.

Afterwards assistence is planned in theater, studios for stagedesign and stagetechnics, costume- or maskdesign, in carpentries and metalworks. Moreover on the program: Work experience in newspapers and radio companies. At the end of the training project th e members will organize intercultural projectdays at schools dealing with subjects like separation and violence in schools. During this whole project the members can inform themselves about perspectives for the future. Apart from that a special course for German has been setup. The whole project is supported with DM 815.620,- by the European Union, the ministry of employment and social securities and the state of Northrhein Westfalia, NRW.
