For this and other defamitory statements, Werner Joachim Siegerist and Uwe Hempen leading lights in the German Conservative party were charged two years ago when Rudko Kawczynski [ Chairman RNC] had sued both for their public defamitory statements. The accusations of public letters of which the accused were the perpetrators. 7.000 of the letters were mailed out and generated donations of more than DM 85.000,- . In April 1994, Siegerist was sentenced to 18 months prison without probationand Hempen to 8 months with probation.
