Church Service in Memory of four Roma in Austria
Vienna / Austria (RNC Agency) 16.02.1996
In the Austrian municipality of Oberwart where a bomb exploded one year ago an ecumenical service was held in memory of the four Roma that were killed. Right-wing extremists are suspected to have committed the crime that is part of a series of attacks. The Catholic diocesan Paul Iby and the Protestant superintendent Gertrude Knoll called on the believers to live together peacefully. Burgenland is a province where both Roma and Austrians of Croatian ancestry live.
