1945 - 1981: the continuation of Nazi institutes for eugenics

Tugendhat pulled no punches when describing the continuing situation of Germany's Roma three decades after the end of the war: "And now I try to imagine how my life here would be if prejudice against Jews continued after Auschwitz as prejudice against Gypsies has continued unabated. Their nightmare is not yet over... We Jews were treated as sub-human during the Third Reich. Gypsies are to-day not called sub-humans, but are held to be so, are handled as if they were"
